Patient Access in 2025: Moving Forward with Smarter, Connected Care

The importance of patient access hasn’t changed in 2025—but the way we deliver it continues to evolve. A recent survey shows that 67% of medical groups now prioritize patient access and scheduling as their leading focus for improving engagement, reflecting a growing understanding that easier access leads to better outcomes.

Over the past few years, research from the CDC and other organizations has consistently shown that engaged patients, supported by proactive care teams, are more likely to achieve better health outcomes. As healthcare delivery continues to shift, maintaining strong and flexible access remains essential.

To support this goal, healthcare professionals and access leaders gathered once again at the 2025 NAHAM Conference in Phoenix. The event served as a space to share ideas, reflect on progress, and explore practical solutions for improving the patient’s experience. SpinSci Technologies was proud to return as an Executive Sponsor, continuing our commitment to smarter, more connected access.

This year’s conference included over 35 sessions centered on real-world challenges and innovations—changing patient expectations, staffing limitations, and the growing role of automation and AI in support of patient care. What stood out was the shared focus on building from what has worked in the past, while using newer tools to extend those efforts.

Leading health systems such as UPMC Health System, AdventHealth, OhioHealth, Bayhealth, Baptist Health, Stanford Medicine, Children’s Health Dallas, UMass Memorial Healthcare, Atrium Health, and Trinity Health shared their strategies for advancing patient access. Each approach emphasized not just technology, but thoughtful integration to improve both staff efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Today’s patients expect options. Whether through a phone call, text, portal, or virtual assistant, people want healthcare on their terms. Meeting them where they are—through the right channel at the right time—is now part of what defines quality care.

At the same time, healthcare teams are still managing staffing pressures. Investing in practical tools that support both patients and staff has become key. Many organizations are moving toward omnichannel communication models that keep interactions consistent, coordinated, and accessible—without overloading internal teams.

During NAHAM 2025, the SpinSci team had the chance to speak with partners and new contacts about their current challenges and future goals. A recurring theme was the need for solutions that simplify communication, support a consistent experience, and work reliably at scale.

SpinSci’s Patient Access Care Solution supports all of this by combining proactive outreach, self-service tools, and integration with major health systems and EHRs. The goal is to improve access workflows without disrupting what already works—while helping health systems do more with the teams they have.

Looking ahead, patient access will continue to be a cornerstone of healthcare delivery. And as expectations shift, the ability to respond with adaptable, intelligent, and patient-centered approaches will define success.

SpinSci is proud to work alongside organizations that are not only keeping up with change—but shaping the future of patient access, one connection at a time.
