Louis Saldana was raised in Japan and spent 17 years there attending a school on a military base called Nile C Kinnick. His mom is Colombian so he grew up with a mix of Colombian and Japanese culture. He enjoys traveling and biking to the beach to enjoy the coastal life. He attended the University of Texas at Dallas and studied English, but he predominately attended during COVID when classes were online and so during this time, he gained an interest in technology. Louis joined the SpinSci team in December 2022 as a Customer Support Specialist.

I have acted on a Japanese TV show with a minor role as a bully. I also used to do some modeling in Japan.
Tell us one extraordinary thing that you have never done and would like to do?
I want to try driving a GT racecar which is a high performance car – basically a racecar verison of a road legal car. That would be pretty cool.
What are a few of your favorite hobbies and interests?
I enjoy playing and watching soccer – I root for Arsenal, Real Madrid, and the Colombian and Japanese national teams. I also like to watch motor sports from Formula 1 to WEC. In addition, I like to play golf and read books in my free time.
What kind of music do you like?
I grew up listening to alot of West Coast Rap – anything before the 2000’s like Wu Tang, Jay-z, etc, but now I switched to listening to comedy podcasts with Frank Sinatra in the background.
What cuisine do you enjoy the most?
For sure Japanese cuisine like Ramen – that would be my last meal in prison. I also like Bandeja Paisa and Empandas or peruvian lomo saltado. My mom makes all of those and it’s the best.
Who has been your inspiration in life?
My dad has been my role model because he is dependable and has a great work ethic.
What do you like about SpinSci?
The continuous learning aspect is always changing, growing, and evolving. It is exciting to be part of the growth within the company.
What are your dreams and your aspirations in Life?
I think my dream in life is to be a very well-versed and cultural person. I’d like to be more open and receptive to everyone’s opinions and become empathetic to all people’s situations like Ted Lasso.
If given a chance, who would you like to be for a day?
Tom Cruise because I can ask anybody to do anything and they’d let me do it.
What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movies would have to be Tokyo Drift, Lost in Translation, and Midnight in Paris.
Where’s a place you’d like to visit?
I’d like to visit Argentina or Chile – it’d be cool to ride a motorcycle all around South America and go backpacking.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Rom coms for sure, I love rom coms especially when the writing is bad.
What’s one item you can’t live without?
I guess it would be my car, a wise man said “You can live in your car, but you can’t race a house”.
