Melissa McCoy joined the SpinSci team as a Customer Success Manager in November of 2020. She initially went to nursing school in 2013 but realized she wanted to move to the business side of the healthcare industry which led her to begin her career in tech.
Melissa is half French-Canadian and was born in Miami and raised in Tampa, Florida with one younger brother in her family. She’s been diagnosed with Narcolepsy, a kind of sleep disorder, but that doesn’t stop her from being a part of the team and working toward her contribution to the organization. She’s a big coffee lover, with 4 shots of espresso to start off each morning.

What’s your biggest screw-up in the kitchen?
All the time, my mom’s side owned restaurants and were great cooks which established my love for food, but once I tried to make Spanish rice without a rice cooker and they turned to mashed potatoes. Needless to say, I did not retain my family’s ease around the kitchen.

Not of my own but my family owns pets. Mom has four boxers, she was fostering two and then fell in love and adopted them. Their Names are Lola, Oliver, Willie, and Beau.
Who has been your inspiration?
Top of my head – Kobe Bryant. His passion for helping humanity and his (MAMBA) mentality, he said it best. “The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great at whatever they want to do.” In regard to music, my inspiration would be Whitney Houston. Her song ‘The Greatest Love All’ has been one of my go-to motivators since I can remember.
What do you like about SpinSci?
Atmosphere – feels like being a part of a family and not just a number. From my teammates, all the way up to the CEO, Rajit, everyone here helps each other to be the best. Good Vibes is an understatement.
Something about yourself others don’t know?
I was a child-model, did lots of shoots for Disney, and was on the very first cruise ship they built for their ad campaign in the late 90s.
What are your dreams and your aspirations in Life?
At a young age, I used to tell everyone I will either be a nurse or an A&R executive for a record company. But as I grew, I have come to appreciate the many blessings of life and the value of the opportunity, so I don’t have a specific career goal anymore. If I find something interesting, I will follow. My endgame though is very clear to me. I plan to eventually start a non-profit organization that provides children with access to arts to explore their passions through creative expression.
